"You don't change the world with words..."A crazy mix of The Avengers, The Wild Wild West, and Vidocq TV shows, with a touch of Hong-Kong cinema from the 70's and 80's, Manga and Steampunk...Here's Iron Dream. A short film unlike anything you ever seen before !Featuring amazing cinematography by Prune Brenguier, and an original synthetic soundtrack by Jérôme Sauleau, mostly shot at Château de Villiers-le-Mahieu in the Yvelines in France, Iron Dream, (Rêve de Fer in french), is a dark period fantasy action short film set under the French Revolution, and the filming debut of writer/director David Fakrikian.The film introduces us to the surrealistic world of bookworm, spy and assassin action heroine Marianne, as a teaser and proof of concept for the full-length feature film project "La Machine Infernale".Shot with Alexandre Brasseur before his casting in "Tomorrow is Ours", the short film is based on a forthcoming graphic novel series written by David Fakrikian, and drawn by "Watchmen", "Batman: The Killing Joke" and "Judge Dredd" british artist-colorist John Higgins.Iron Dream has been internationaly shown in theaters since 2017, starting with an American World Premiere at the prestigious Hyart Theater in Lowell, Wyoming, (listed on the National Register of Historic Places), and has been selected at the San Mauro Film Festival, and the Artemis Women In Action Film Festival, before taking on Asia (Chinese Film Festival, Asia International Festival...), England (Lift-Off Sessions Pinewood, First Time Filmmaker Session Pinewood Studios...) and France (Espace Tony Garnier during the Comic'Gone convention, 48h Chrono Film Festival...).Although refused by the majority of the main French short films festivals, who seems to have developed an allergy to french genre films, Iron Dream was noticed by Amazon Video, who selected the film in the Amazon All Voices Film Festival and is streaming it in High Definition and 5.1 on the plateform since january 2018, in it's english localised version, exclusively on the USA and UK territories, via Amazon Prime.Since mid-december 2019, the short film is available on streaming on the YouTube platform in it's french localised version. Since mid december 2020, a Blu-ray / DVD combo limited edition has been released and is available for order at www.revedefer.com, and exclusively at the Metaluna store in Paris.After selling out, the initial Blu-ray / DVD combo will not be repressed.
